Our top-of-the-range Plasma TVs models are equipped with "Digital Cinema Colour". Thanks to their advanced panel structure and newly developed filter, VIERAs with this feature are able to accurately represent more than 120% of the conventional HDTV colour standard resulting in a level of colour expression that approaches what you experience in a cinema.
x.v.Colour***
This wide colour gamut also achieves richer, more vivid colouring from x.v.Colour signals, the new standard for wider colour space supported in HDTVs. Thanks to these richer, more realistic, and more vivid colours, you really do get the feeling that you are there at the heart of the action.
Unparalleled Gradation
High-end VIERA TVs offer incredibly rich expressivity thanks to ultra-precise gradation levels of 5,120 equivalent steps. What’s more, they are also fully compatible with the HDMI 1.3 "Deep Colour" standard - meaning that VIERA can accurately render even the subtly changing nuances of sunrises or sunsets with amazing clarity and without any colour banding and drawing out the full potential of high-definition sources.
1,000,000:1 Contrast**
The new Real Black Drive system (a pre-discharge suppression system) and the enhanced panel production processes in our plasma TVs combine to reproduce deep blacks with an outstanding contrast ratio up to 1,000,000:1 in dynamic, and 30,000:1 in native contrast. VIERA Plasma TVs accurately reproduce scenes, even those with a delicate balance of light and shadows.
