The fruit of the award-winning picture performance heritage is found inside each Panasonic VIERA TV in the shape of the unique V-real 3 (for HD) and V-real PRO 3 (for full HD) collection of leading-edge imaging technologies.

Panasonic takes a holistic approach to both R&D and picture performance and therefore V-real technology covers the three major components of a TV: the Processors, Drivers, and actual Display Panels themselves. All are developed in-house and in-tandem to ensure that every single device and component is optimized to work together delivering uncompromising picture quality.

V-real 3 and V-real PRO 3 Processors and Drivers
The V-real 3 and V-real PRO 3 Processors enhance the basic quality of the images reproduced from input video signals. This is where VIERA TVs beautiful high-resolution images begin. The high-performance drivers optimise the performance of the display panel. This helps render images that have smooth, crystal-clear motion and delicate colours with rich gradation

11th Generation Panels
All 2008 VIERA Plasma TVs feature Panasonic 11th Generation (G11) HD and Full-HD panels - the result of several years of research and development. Boasting beautiful colour reproduction, and precise fluid on-screen motion, these 11th generation panels break new ground, even for us!

Boasting over two million pixels and a 1920 x 1080 resolution, the VIERA G11 Full-HD panel displays beautiful images without needing to perform pixel conversion for the 1080p video signals processed by the video circuitry. Because the super-high resolution of the full-HD panel is best appreciated on a large screen, Panasonic offers the full-HD G11 panel in products with screen sizes between 37- and 65-inches. You can enjoy images with stunning detail and beauty not only from HD broadcasts, but from Blu-ray sources as well.

Furthermore these 11th Generation plasma panels are exceptionally environmentally friendly as they are both lead-free and designed to last for up to 100,000 hours - the equivalent of 30 years or more of eight hours-a-day viewing!

VIERA Tough Panel
All Panasonic VIERA Plasma TVs are protected by a front sheet of glass resistant to impacts of up to four joules. This is particularly reassuring for families with small children who may otherwise inadvertently damage the screen when playing. Also, the growing success of games consoles using motion controllers has led to an increase in TVs being accidentally struck and damaged by controllers which have slipped out of player's hands. Thanks to VIERA plasma TVs' Tough Panel you don't need to worry. And what's more, the protective panel makes cleaning easier too, simply wipe with a soft cloth when necessary.
