Lumix – taking the WIDE view
Most conventional Digital Cameras produce images that are equivalent to 35mm film cameras. They are fine for taking snap shots of family and friends, but if you want to take really good landscapes, interiors or group shots, you will probably have trouble fitting everything you want into your photo.
With a Lumix series of wide-angle cameras Panasonic released the perfect partner for wide shots featuring 25mm, 28mm and 30mm wide-angle-lenses.
Although the difference between 35mm and 25mm equivalent lenses may not sound like a lot, a 25mm camera really allows you to fit a great deal more of a scene into the frame thus providing much more dramatic shots. This extra range is especially useful when you are indoors being restricted in your movements by walls, trying to take a photo of an interior, or when you want to capture a much wider landscape. It also helps you to fit all your friends into one photo without cutting off people's heads or arms!
Featuring four aspherical lenses with six aspherical surfaces including an EA (Extra High Refractive Index Aspherical) lens, these lens systems make it possible to deliver a 25mm wide-angle-lens with 4x optical zoom, in a super-slim body -- accordingly you get the wide angles and dramatic shots, without a bulging or bulky camera!
