VIERA Tough Panel - protects your plasma screen
All Panasonic VIERA Plasma TVs are protected by a front sheet of glass resistant to impacts of up to four joules. This is particularly reassuring for families with small children who may otherwise inadvertently damage the screen when playing. Also, the growing success of games consoles using motion controllers has led to an increase in TVs being accidentally struck and damaged by controllers which have slipped out of player's hands. Thanks to VIERA plasma TVs' Tough Panel you don't need to worry. And what's more, the protective panel makes cleaning easier too, simply wipe with a soft cloth when necessary.
The VIERA Tough Panel provides a high resistance of impact up to four joule; the glass adds extra assurance of protection if the TV screen is accidentally hit. Additionally, the protective panel makes cleaning the screen easier by simply wiping the panel with a soft cloth when necessary.

Whilst engineered to be tough and deliver over 100, 000 hours of outstanding picture quality, our VIERA plasma televisions are also gentle. Completely lead-free and featuring Eco Mode, the next generation television has an ambient light sensor to conserve power in light conditions, reducing the impact on the environment but not the performance.

Lead-free Plasma Display – making products more easily recyclable
Panasonic is the first company in the world to achieve the elimination of lead in all Plasma Display Panels (PDPs), the central picture component in its Plasma TVs.
In conventional manufacturing processes for PDPs, lead oxide glass is used as a key component for the dielectric layer, electrodes, seal frit and other structural elements to form the panel. Nevertheless, Panasonic dedicated staff and resources to identifying an alternative.
The use of lead is prohibited by the RoHS Directive, but processed glass products are exempt from this regulation because the development of an alternative material is difficult. For VIERA plasma TV’s Panasonic has developed a lead alternative substance and eliminated the use of lead in plasma TV’s for the first time in the world.
This reduces the impact on the environment when recycling or disposing of them in the future. Once again then, Panasonic demonstrated its superior green credentials, by being the first to find an alternative technology.

VIERA Eco Mode – saving energy
People are increasingly concerned about the energy consumption of their electronic products. Therefore, Panasonic has introduced an “Eco Mode” as standard in most VIERA TV’s. Having activated the “Eco Mode”, a photo sensor measures the ambient light conditions in the room, and the picture settings are adjusted automatically.
As a result, the TV uses less power in dark light conditions without any deterioration in picture quality. In the Eco Demo Mode the Eco scale can be displayed on the TV screen to show how the energy consumption levels change with ambient light.

Which?, the UK’s leading independent consumer magazine, asked readers to rate the reliability of audio visual products as part of a comprehensive report on brand reliability. Against fierce competition, Panasonic was rated the clear winner, with a remarkable 96% overall reliability for widescreen TVs.
Panasonic dominates the list of Best Buy widescreen TVs and consistently outperforms other brands, whilst the survey reveals that Panasonic widescreen TVs are one of the top three brands in terms of customer satisfaction.
Not surprisingly then, Panasonic has been named as ‘the most consistently reliable brand’ – also achieving the top in reliability in areas such as Digital Camcorders, Digital Cameras, and Digital Radios.
