Intelligent ISO - Detects Movement, Prevents Blurring

After hand shake, the next most common cause of poor photos is "motion blur" which occurs when the shooting object moves just as it is being snapped.

After hand shake, the next most common cause of poor photos is "motion blur" which occurs when the shooting object moves just as it is being snapped. Accordingly, LUMIX has developed a unique Intelligent ISO* Control which uses subject-motion detection circuitry inside the Venus Engine III processor to detect whether or not the subject is moving. If it is, the system automatically raises the ISO setting accordingly, allowing the camera to shoot at a higher shutter speed thus preventing motion blur but also without compromising the quality and naturalness of the image. If the subject is not moving, the camera shoots at a low ISO setting and also captures beautiful, natural-looking images.

* ISO is a value used to indicate a film's sensitivity to light. A larger ISO value indicates that the camera can take a better picture in dimly lit locations (such as indoors).
