BACKGROUND

Since 1991, The Townends Group has built up a network of over 40 branches, a successful business still rapidly expanding making it one of the largest estate agents in the UK. Operating primarily in London, Surrey and Middlesex whilst continuing to grow in Berkshire and Hampshire, Townends offer clients a wide range of services covering all aspects of the property market whilst priding themselves on quality, service and value. With this in mind Townends needed to go from their black and white printer to a multi functional colour product in order to keep them up to date with the very latest technology. They were looking for a machine that could cope with a high output. Ideal for them, the Panasonic gives truly remarkable colour quality whilst providing all document functions in one unit, allowing more space and advanced printing technology.

CHALLENGE

With limited space within many of the branches a multi functional product is a perfect practical solution for Townends, creating more space without all the extra units. With the business growing rapidly the new offices will need the best technology providing them with the resources to give their customers further quality service. According to members of the team the speed of previous models has always been a problem; with the amount of work to be done a slow machine is just not good enough.

SOLUTION

For employees at Townends providing a quick response to customers is vital, so whilst comparing their old model with the new Panasonic colour Workio an important aspect was always going to be speed to see if they could overcome previous problems. The lettings department raved about how much time they were saving from having the scan to email function.

“Before we had problems when scanning, as we had to constantly ring IT to get documents passed. With the new model we can email straight to our email account. It’s a massive time saver and so much easier. A thousand times better.”

Not only can they now print in colour, they have found the colour quality to be fantastic. Estate Management, who deal with site inspections, has seen a huge benefit for their role: Others also were commenting that the quality is so good that when copying you can’t tell the difference from the original. Letterheads and brochures are now produced to the high standards of Townends.

In the future the technology will enable employees to become even more effective with their time, especially with the use of the SD card function. Allowing staff to simply put the SD card straight into the multi functional product and print out pictures. Property photos will be printed in excellent quality and quickly!
