The BBC and ITV bring you freesat, a brand new digital satellite TV service giving you free HD programmes at no extra cost. freesat has no contract, no subscription, just a one-off payment for the TV, satellite dish and installation. And because freesat is broadcast via satellite, it will be available to almost every household in the UK. Everyone can now enjoy digital TV for free, even HD programmes; TV so real it makes you feel like you’re part of the action.
freesat is the first platform to offer subscription free HD services, enhanced HD interactive services and future feature expansion including the addition of broadband internet applications. Viera with freesat HD Plasma Range
The PZ81 Series, available in three screen sizes: TH-42PZ81 (42”), TH-46PZ81 (46”) and TH-50PZ81 (50”) have been available in store since June. These stylish and desirable plasmas boast a host of features to deliver outstanding moving picture resolution and beautiful colour reproduction together with brilliant sound and easy operation, giving viewers the optimum HD viewing experience. A Panasonic HD plasma TV with freesat built-in is a quick and convenient way to view a wide range of channels including brilliant HD programmes from the BBC and ITV, all for free*.

These sets give optimised picture performance, perfect for HD sports, movies and games, as they come equipped with Panasonic’s flagship Intelligent Frame Creation System, which harnesses the computing power of the V-Real Pro 3 processor, motion compensated additional frames are created and inserted between the source frames resulting in natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion high definition images.
In addition 24p Real Cinema technology ensures enhanced judder-free playback when viewing 24 frames per second material, such as that output from Panasonic Blu-ray players. The PZ81 series also features 100Hz Double Scan to ensure beautiful, flicker-less on-screen motion and an extra wide colour gamut with x.v.Colour, which produces richer, more vivid colouring from x.v.Colour signals^.
Viera with freesat HD LCD Range
The LZD81 series, available in two screen sizes: TX-32LZD81 (32”) and TX-37LZD81 (37”), is available in store from 17th October 2008. These LCD models boast a high contrast ratio of an incredible 10,000:1 with ISC (Intelligent Scene Controller) ensuring consistent deep black levels and crisp on-screen motion. This new line-up also features V-Real Pro 3 picture technology which perfectly optimises the performance of the display panel to render smooth, crystal clear motion without compromising on delicate colours with rich gradation.
The full HD resolution panel beautifully reproduces all High Definition sources including Blu-ray and the freesat HD programming. Plus the V-Real Pro 3 processor also offers up-scaling capabilities, second to none when it comes to reproducing standard definition sources such as DVD or TV programming, where HD is not yet available.
Picture quality is also enhanced with an extra wide colour gamut with x.v.Colour, which produces richer, more vivid colouring from x.v.Colour^ signals. Many LCDs suffer from colour wash-out when not viewed from directly in front, however, Panasonic’s latest generation of IPS Alpha panels have an extra wide 178 degree viewing angle, both horizontally and vertically, meaning the whole family can watch TV from anywhere in the room.
These TV’s come equipped with V-Audio Surround sound for the complete home cinema experience, delivering the best of sound with V-Audio surround and V-Audio technologies which feature Panasonic’s unique digital amplifier and BBE (Bass Boost Enhancement).
