Panasonic has today unveiled its third generation of 3D glasses, the world’s lightest* 3D active-shutter glasses (1). The TY-EW3D3 3D glasses can be charged extremely quickly and enable increased brightness, meaning consumers are now able to enjoy the most intuitive and immersive Full HD 3D experience from the comfort of their living room.
Built for the ultimate comfort, the revised structure and slimmer LCD lens of the new TY-EW3D3 is 30 per cent lighter than previous Panasonic models, allowing users to enjoy long hours of pleasurable and relaxing viewing. The glasses are available in three different sizes, meaning there will be a perfect fit for every member of the family. These are the small TY-EW3D3S and medium TY-EW3D3M models, both weighing just 26 grams, and the large TY-EW3D3L model which weighs 27 grams.
The new design of the TY-EW3D3 glasses feature wider temple portions which effectively blocks out the entry of excessive light from the sides of the glasses. This produces an increase in brightness during 3D viewing, providing the highest quality visual experience.
Whether it is for movies, sports or gaming the new glasses allows bright and crisp 3D viewing, further enhancing the appeal of high quality 3D entertainment in the home.
For greater ease of use, the quick charge function provides approximately three hours of battery life from just two minutes of charging time; this is further increased to 25 hours of battery life from 30 minutes of charging time. With quick charging, the 3D viewing experience is even more accessible and convenient for the whole family.
Panasonic is committed to the development of a fully integrated end-to-end solution for the 3D world and continues to be at the forefront of a new era that is focused on delivering immersive visual entertainment into consumers’ homes. With lightweight, high quality active-shutter 3D glasses, Panasonic’s TY-EW3D3 will provide consumers with the ultimate viewing experience.
Panasonic’s TY-EW3D3 will go on sale in Europe from September 2011.
