Panasonic announced today that it will begin to offer VIERA Connect, a new and enhanced cloud-based Internet service, this autumn for FULL HD 3D Blu-ray DiscTM players, recorders and FULL HD 3D Blu-ray DiscTM home cinema systems in Europe.
The new VIERA Connect service allows users to enjoy a variety of content such as movies, music, weather forecasts and news services all previously available on Panasonic's VIERACast service, an innovative feature that allows users to directly access online content from their TV via an internet connection. Users will also have access to a variety of newly added sports and game apps in addition to a wide range of content from Movies, Music, Sports, Games, Social Networking and News & Lifestyles services.
Through the VIERA Connect Market, launched earlier this year and downloadable free of charge to VIERA Connect, users can easily customise and rearrange their frequently-used content on the home screen.
In addition users will benefit from Panasonic’s Skype feature which enables users to talk via the TV screen. This feature includes a wide range of easy-to-use functionalities such as an auto answering video message that automatically works when the user is away, a video voicemail recording function for recording messages, and an incoming ringtone to notify the user of incoming calls. Using the keyboard GUI of the iPhone® remote control function, users can instantly turn the iPhone® into a remote control to intuitively navigate all the tools and features available.
