Panasonic Freeview+ HD PVR - HW100

Panasonic’s HW100 and PWT500 are the first Hard Disc Only HD recorders of their kind to offer 2D HD recording, plus the future proof capability to record 3D HD when it becomes available on Freeview, and offering the capability to convert any 2D recording to 3D even when time shifting! Or streaming – Great for those who want to experience more 3D content on their 3D ready panel and glasses.

Twin HD tuners will allow simultaneous watch and record as well as simultaneous record along with all the Freeview+ HD convenience – Pause, rewind , 8 day EPG, series record, etc and 320GB of Hard disk space will allow up to 79hours of HD contents to be recorded.

Another unique feature of these recorders is the capability to edit content – with features such as partial delete available.

Both models will also be equipped with VIERA CAST, which allows users to enjoy various online content such as Acetrax™ video on demand service, YouTube™, Picasa™, Weather, stock information, etc. and both have SKYPE installed ready to hold HD video conversations when used with an HD Skype Cam. (available separately)

Both models also come with an SD memory card slot, making it easy to view movie (AVCHD format) and still images captured with an HD camcorder or digital still camera. All models also feature an HD Archiving function that makes it possible to save beautiful Full-HD images from an SD memory card onto the built-in hard disk drive.

High Quality Imaging on Blu-Ray - PWT500

Image-enhancing features include the Adaptive Chroma Processor for Blu-ray Disc™ content, which reproduces films with colours that are exceptionally faithful to the original. The combination of the Blu-ray Disc™ software encoding technology cultivated by the Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory (PHL) and the decoding technology accumulated by Panasonic has led to the development of the “PHL Chroma Processor Plus," a high quality image technology for faithfully reproducing film content. The Adaptive Chroma processor has further enhanced the high quality picture processing technology and realized the true to cinema picture reproduction. For standard definition DVDs as well as 1080i and less sources, the P4HD renders progressive images superbly, expresses motion smoothly, and draws crisp diagonal lines.

Wide networking possible (DLNA Server and Client)

The DMP-PWT500 and DMR-HW100 are equipped with DLNA server functionality. By connecting to LAN and with compatible DLNA client device, the recorded programmes, AVCHD and JPEG files archived on DIGA’s hard disc drive can be enjoyed in a separate room. The SD Card slot adapts to AVCHD which was filmed using 3D camcorder, and also MPO files which was shot using 3D cameras, in addition to adapting to a regular videos or pictures images data. It makes it possible for users to move and save data from SD card or USB stick into the Hard Disc.

Both models are WiFi capable with the HW100 requiring an accessory wireless dongle whereas the DMP-PWT500 has Wireless LAN built-in especially good for , frequent users of Skype , Video on Demand on Acetrax™, and videos on YouTubeTM etc
