28th September 2009
As the Broadcasters, Freeview and Digital UK have notified, on Wednesday 30 September some changes are being made to the Freeview service. As a result, it will be necessary for all customers to re-tune their Freeview product, any time from lunchtime onwards on this date, to ensure that they continue to receive all available channels, including Channel Five (Please note that satellite, cable and analogue TV services will not be affected).
The major changes that you will notice following the re-tune are as follows;
> New Channel launched (Quest)
> Channel Five will be made available to more viewers
As referred to within the Frequently Asked Questions section of the re-tune site www.tvretune.co.uk, the re-tune may result in the loss of ITV3 and ITV4 (and some other) channels to some viewers. Specifically it will affect those customers receiving broadcast via relay transmitters rather than from a main transmitter.
To understand the channels which are predicted to be available to you in your postcode area, please refer to the Digital UK website (http://www.tvretune.co.uk/postcodechecker). Enter your postcode and house number. Please then select the section entitled “Channels available at your address”
When the re-tune is required, your Panasonic product will detect the new channels and will display the message "New channels found”. Once you have re-tuned, all channels predicted to be available to your specific postcode area can then be received.
For additional information regarding channel availability and your local transmitter, please refer to the website www.tvretune.co.uk.
