Next Generation Talent 2009 - Winning Entry Aired on Channel 4

Panasonic is pleased to announce that Romaine Reid, winner of the Next Generation Talent Competition 2009, had his winning entry broadcast on Channel 4. The ad aired on the 15th December 2009 in between Jamie’s Family Christmas show.

Panasonic’s NGT competition was open to students and recent graduates, challenging them to put their creative skills to the test and create a TV advert portraying the unique benefits of the VIERA Home Hub HD TV. Promoting some of the brand’s best selling products, this year’s winning entry features the LUMIX TZ7 super-zoom compact camera, the world’s lightest* HD Camcorder the HDC-SD10, the UK’s first Blu-ray Recorder DMR-BS850 as well as the ultra-slim and ultra-stylish VIERA Z1 HD TV.

Judged by a panel of industry experts, Romaine’s entry stood out from the crowd. John Dixon, Head of Brand Communications at Panasonic UK congratulated Romaine on his “outstanding achievement” whilst the talented man himself walked away with £2,500 worth of Panasonic HD kit! Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, where Romaine studied in London, has also been awarded with £1,500 worth of Panasonic equipment.

In order to actively encourage the next generation of talent, Panasonic gave Romaine the opportunity to work alongside one of their creative agencies for a week’s placement period where he underwent a portfolio review as well learning from the industry’s best! Romaine has commented on his feelings towards the brand and said that “After seeing the quality of Panasonic products and the company’s history and success, it has made me very proud and honored to win this competition.”
