The winner of the nationwide Next Generation Talent Competition, James Fox, visited the Panasonic headquarters in Bracknell. James discussed his ideas behind the advert with Managing Director, Keith Evans, who commented that “This is a big achievement for James and I appreciate his creative mind”. Keith then presented James with one of his prizes, the SD9 HD camcorder.
This competition was run in association with YCN (the Young Creative’s Network), which exists to unearth and showcase emerging talent in design and visual communication. Through award programs, publishing ventures and the curation of frequent events; YCN has built up a large and ever growing international audience.
James is a final year student at Loughborough University, studying Visual Communication. He produced a high quality advertisement including the music, within a very tight deadline of four weeks and responded in a very clever and subtle way to Panasonic’s challenging brief.
His idea behind the advert revolved around the concept of the HD Home Entertainment Hub and its versatility. The boxes were used to symbolise this in the advert showing that the TV can be used to playback home movies, viewing photos, playing back DVDs and many other functions.
As part of his prize, James has been invited to work with one of Panasonic’s creative agencies and due to the quality of his advertisement, Panasonic have decided to run it on live TV as part of there VIERA HD Home Entertainment Hub advertising campaign.
James said, “This has been a really good experience for me and I am very much looking forward to working alongside Panasonic’s Creative agency, as I am very interested in pursuing a career in advertising in the future."
