Berlin, Germany (Aug 29, 2012): Panasonic is preparing to show visitors at Berlin’s annual Internationale Funkausstellung 2012 (IFA) its global vision to combine smart technology and eco ideas.
Panasonic’s 6,150m2 booth (situated in Hall 5.2) will be divided into distinct ‘zones’ featuring its latest product ranges, cutting-edge innovation and future technologies. The centre of Panasonic’s IFA 2012 booth will showcase the widest connectivity concept in the industry. Smart connectivity links together a wide range of products covering every aspect of daily life, from audio-visual equipment to home appliances and energy related products. Even outside of the home, Panasonic will demonstrate that it can provide smart and connected solutions to realise a sustainable yet comfortable lifestyle.
At IFA 2012, the Panasonic booth consists of the following three main areas:
Concept Zone:
A third, Concept area of the booth will demonstrate Panasonic’s smart eco-solutions, future technologies and ‘Future Craft’ design philosophy.
In line with Panasonic’s on-going commitment to ecology, the booth at IFA 2012 will include a variety of the latest energy solutions and green technologies. Visitors will be able to explore Panasonic’s energy creation (solar panels, fuel cell), energy storage (Lithium-ion Battery System), and energy saving solutions (Heatcharge Air-conditioner, LED lighting) as well as its Smart Energy Gateway (SEG) which is the core of the Home Energy Management System (HEMS). They will also be able to learn about Panasonic’s aim to incorporate energy solutions across entire towns and cities with projects such as the Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town (SST) and the Skolkovo Smart City.
Exciting 3D technologies which achieve an even greater sense of realism such as an Interactive Multi-view 3D System which allows the viewer to control the object image through a touch panel and the world's largest glasses-free 3D plasma display will be exhibited and presented to the B2B field as new solutions for 3D businesses.
Panasonic’s smart solutions are designed to make the user’s everyday life more comfortable, convenient and energy efficient. Visitors will be shown how, via the Panasonic Smart App, for example, users can control their air conditioners remotely from outside the home, check if the refrigerator is running efficiently, or set their preferred washing cycle using their smartphone. The new app also allows owners of the Panasonic healthcare products to create graphs tracking their weight and calories consumed by everyday activities among other things, making it easier to manage daily healthcare data.
The corporate zone will also include a host of products that embody Panasonic’s ‘Future Craft’ design philosophy. From home and in-built appliances to AVC and lighting, products in the ‘Future Craft’ area will showcase the best in Panasonic design. Visitors can expect to see award winning, thin-bezel TVs, washing machines, refrigerators, cooking appliances and LED light bulbs.
Digital AV Zone:
In the Digital AV zone, visitors will also be able to enjoy Panasonic’s comprehensive Audio-Visual product range. On show will be the full range of Smart VIERA televisions including a ground-breaking 60” LED, the SmartVIERA TX-L60ET5 - the biggest Panasonic has ever produced - and a top of the range 50” plasma TV, the VT50. Appliances Zone:
For the first time, Panasonic will have a comprehensive range of home appliances on show at IFA 2012. The Appliances Zone will further demonstrate Panasonic’s commitment to developing the smart connected home of the future. By combining its smart technologies and eco ideas the company is making huge strides towards realising the vision of becoming the ‘No. 1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry by 2018’.
Panasonic is committed to making environmental considerations central to all business activities and innovations, including the products it delivers to consumers. With this sentiment in mind, this year’s booth will include both the world’s first A+++, no frost, side-by-side fridge and a range of products that incorporate Panasonic’s revolutionary Inverter Heat pump engine
Thanks to synergies between a wide-range of products, as well as knowledge shared across the company, Panasonic has been able to incorporate eco-technology innovations into a variety of different products. For example, its revolutionary ‘Inverter’ heating technology has not only been installed into washer/dryers, but also fridges and air-conditioning systems, greatly improving overall energy efficiency.
The Appliances Zone also demonstrates Panasonic’s commitment to innovation displaying its new Induction Hob, which allows for exact temperature settings and the transfer of power to other appliances placed anywhere on its surface. It is just one of many ‘future technologies’ that visitors will be able to try out at the booth.
After great success at IFA 2011, Panasonic will be hosting a live and interactive broadcast from IFA 2012 to ensure people from around the world can take part in this year’s event. The Panasonic Live @ IFA broadcast will be hosted daily by Patrice Bouédibéla, who will guide viewers around the Panasonic booth and introduce Panasonic’s team of experts from its various product ranges. Viewers can post a question on participating Panasonic Facebook pages or the Panasonic website, which will be answered live.
