Panasonic introduce Next Generation Fridge-Freezers in Europe

24th February 2009

Panasonic Corporation has announced that it will launch its first fridge-freezer into the European market with the introduction of two new models: a premium model (NR-B30FX1) and a deluxe model (NR-B30FG1).

Panasonic introduce Next Generation Fridge-Freezers

Thanks to a combination of Panasonic technological innovations such as Inverter technology and U-Vacua vacuum insulation panel, the two models are able to achieve the highest energy savings in the industry while maintaining the highest performance. The two models also contain a Vitamin-Safe compartment that is completely sealed from other compartments, allowing fruits and vegetables to be stored separately at their ideal storage temperatures and remain fresh. Panasonic will introduce the two models from March 2009 in seven European countries including Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom followed by other European countries thereafter.

The Panasonic NR-B30FX1 is the first-ever fridge-freezer with a no-frost freezer to be rated A++

The two new models from Panasonic uses advanced technologies to deliver reliable and affordable performances while protecting the environment. The Inverter technology, for example, ensures that the new-line fridge-freezer adapts power to maintain the optimum temperature, thus achieving the highest energy saving level. Temperature sensors and microprocessor technology work together to help the inverter finely adjust the compressor. This means it can operate at the most appropriate power level. It also takes into account the temperature inside the refrigerator, providing the best chilling and freezing results without wasting energy. The Panasonic NR-B30FX1 is the first-ever fridge-freezer with a no-frost freezer to be rated A++, the coveted EU energy efficiency standard. The NR-B30FX1, like its companion NR-B30FG1, freezes food faster than competitor models.

The two models include an innovative U-Vacua vacuum insulation panel, which provide high energy efficiency. Compared to the thick energy-saving walls in conventional fridge-freezers, Panasonic's patented thin glass-fiber panel substantially improves insulating performance — up to 20 times more than the urethane material commonly used. Thanks to these thinner walls, Panasonic fridge-freezers provide greater storage capacity. Also, at noise levels of only 37 dB, the two models operate 25% more quietly than similar no-frost appliances (less of that annoying "switching noise").

Vitamin-Safe

The NR-B30FX1 and the NR-B30FG also include the unique Vitamin-Safe compartment, a separate fully extendable fruit & vegetable compartment with temperature control that can be adjusted between 0˚ C and 5˚ C and 95% humidity to keep the vitamins fresh, and prevent the transfer of smell from other foods. Plus the Hygiene Active system — a combined lifetime filter, air circulation and LED light system in the fridge-freezer compartment which combats 99.9999% of typical bacteria up to a 1.000 times more effectively than ordinary shelf surfacing. Furthermore, two flashing LEDs activate the fruit and vegetables’ natural defences and preventing them from losing any Vitamin C. It really works, and the effect of these LEDs has been tested and certified by SLG, a renowned independent test laboratory.

The two Panasonic fridge-freezers also includes the following design features: a fully covered back to keep the compressor dust-free; a stylish grip-less handle making it easy to open the door at any point; and, an innovative LED system with front-position wide-angled lighting which ensures increased visibility inside. The energy consumption of a white light LED is only one watt or one fortieth of an ordinary 40W light bulb, making this energy efficient.

"Kitchen appliances account for most of an average household’s energy needs, especially the fridge-freezer which operates non-stop all year. The innovative new features in the Panasonic NR-B30FX1 fridge-freezer unit make it the most energy efficient. From the power consumption angle alone, you couldn’t buy a better fridge-freezer. The reduction in energy use is not only good for the wallet: It's good for the environment too", says Maik Stahlbock, Manager Major Domestic Appliances at Panasonic Marketing Europe.

The two Panasonic fridge-freezers will be available in Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland and the United Kingdom from March 2009, followed by other European countries over the course of the year.
