Panasonic Europe is unveiling its 2012 consumer electronics product line-up at its annual event, Panasonic Convention on 20th February 2012. The event, taking place in Hamburg, Germany, marks the 50th anniversary of Panasonic’s business operations in Europe. Panasonic will exhibit its latest portfolio of Smart Solutions for 2012, ranging from the company's comprehensive energy solutions, to its cutting-edge digital AV products — including its Smart VIERA TVs, smartphones, home theatre systems and LUMIX digital cameras and camcorders.

During the event, Panasonic will unveil its plans for the launch of its new Smartphone across Europe this Spring. Last year, Panasonic announced plans to expand its smartphone business beyond Japan, starting with Europe in Spring 2012, with an aim to bring its overseas smartphone sales to 15 million units by 2015.

Panasonic will be exhibiting its 2012 Smart VIERA LED LCD and Plasma line-ups, which provide an effortless next-generation TV experience. Based on the five pillars of picture quality; networking; easy operation; design and eco, Panasonic’s Smart VIERA TVs enable users to watch, surf, chat and share content with ease. All technologies are embedded in a design of high-quality materials that are both stylish and eco-friendly.
Smart VIERA’s intuitive and immersive next-generation TV experience is available on the expanded LED LCD line-up announced today including Panasonic’s largest ever LED-based TV, the 55-inch model in the WT50 series. It is also available on the majority of Panasonic’s 2012 Plasma line-up, including its flagship VT50 model offering outstanding picture quality in both Full HD 2D and 3D.
Panasonic’s full line-up of LUMIX cameras, featuring a brand new set of compact digital cameras as well as the popular LUMIX G system cameras, will also be displayed. The compact camera highlights include the recently announced LUMIX FT20 and LUMIX TZ30, Panasonic’s most advanced photo and video hybrid compact camera to date. Also, the new stylish zoom SZ series, offering style and compactness whilst also boasting a powerful 10x optical zoom and full HD Video recording.
Panasonic will display the new eight-model line-up of HD camcorders, including a host of new performance features and functions. The flagship models in the range the HC-X900 and X800, provide Panasonic’s highest-ever camcorder image quality due to the combination of the 3MOS System Pro, the Leica Dicomar Lens with Nano Surface Coating Technology, and the Crystal Engine Pro II.
Plus the new HC-V700 featuring Panasonic’s newly developed High Sensitivity Sensor for superior image quality. Equipped with a 28mm wide-angle2 setting, Intelligent 46x Zoom, and supporting 3D shooting.
A host of new innovative Home AV products have also been announced today, including a new range of Smart Network Full HD 3D Blu-ray Disc players such as the flagship DMP-BDT500 model, FULL HD 3D Blu-ray Disc home cinema systems, Compact Stereo Systems and Concept Speaker Systems.
This year's event also further demonstrates Panasonic’s commitment to become the “No.1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry” by 2018 with comprehensive energy solutions. Panasonic announced that it will begin selling LED lighting products to consumers across Europe from April, and the new E27 LED light bulb, E14 candle LED light bulb and the award-winning Nostalgic Clear LED light bulb will all be displayed at Panasonic Convention.
Panasonic will also be demonstrating other technologies in its comprehensive Smart Energy Solutions portfolio including its HIT solar panels and its energy efficient heat pump range.
