Following a hugely successful competition in 2008, Panasonic have revived the Next Generation Talent (www.nextgenerationtalent.co.uk) competition for 2009.
The competition asks students to put their creative skills to the test and produce a TV ad to promote Panasonic's award winning products for a chance to win an ad spot on national television, a two-week work experience placement with one of Panasonic’s creative agencies, a 42” VIERA with freesat HD TV and other award winning gear from the electronics giant.
Panasonic partnered with the Young Creative Network and 10 Universities from across the country with superior programmes in film production, advertising, marketing and design to help foster student talent and raise awareness of the competition.
All entries to Next Generation Talent will be judged by a group of bloggers and professionals in the creative industries after which time the finalists will be turned over to a public vote. A winner will be announced 18th September 2009.
Sarah Trounce, project manager from Young Creative Network comments: "We are delighted to be involved with such an exciting initiative as the one being driven by Panasonic. As ever we're amazed by the rich creative talent across the UK that the competition strives to highlight."
The big prize winner last year was James Fox, from Loughborough University. His Panasonic ad, Boxes, was featured on Channel 4 during primetime television in March 2009. He was also featured in The Guardian in “The Next Big Thing” business and education column.
John Dixon, head of brand advertising at Panasonic comments, “When we launched Next Generation Talent last year, we were very impressed by the amount of creativity and professionalism that was coming from UK’s students. We’re very keen to see what other undiscovered talent is out there”
