Olympic middleweight boxing champion James DeGale (Harlesden, London) received a present from Panasonic, worldwide Olympic Games partner and Team GB sponsor.
In recognition of James’ gold medal winning performance at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and in return for the enjoyment he brought the nation, he received a 32” Panasonic Viera screen with HD Freesat built in and a Blu-ray player, enabling him to replay his magic moments from Beijing
James received his gifts at the boxing club that he has trained at for eleven years, Dale Youth ABC (North Kensington), where he also shared his Olympic stories with some of the younger club members.
After achieving his aim of winning Olympic gold, James recently announced that he will now turn professional in the hope of realising his second dream of becoming a professional world champion.
Keith Evans, Managing Director of Panasonic UK said: “Panasonic is proud to present each of the gold medal winners with a latest edition high definition TV and Blu-ray player in recognition of the hard work and their fantastic achievements in Beijing. This summer, Team GB put the ‘great’ back into Great Britain and I hope that the athletes will enjoy reliving their Olympic moments on the high definition Panasonic TV for many years to come.
