With exactly ‘Two Years to Go’ until the London 2012 Olympic Games (London 2012), Panasonic Corporation, the Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Audio and Visual Equipment category for the London 2012 Olympic Games, announced that the company will host a one day event called “Get Ready for London 2012” in Trafalgar Square on July 27, 2010 to mark the occasion.
The event highlights include a “3D Future Zone” featuring six special pods that include Panasonic’s Full HD 3D Plasma Home Theater Systems. The systems allow visitors to enjoy exciting Olympic Games footage from recent Olympic Games in high-quality 3D, immersing them in the true-to-life full HD 3D images.
Also, in cooperation with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), and British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the British broadcaster for London 2012, Panasonic will broadcast a live feed of the celebrations being hosted in the Olympic Park, East London on their big screen in Trafalgar Square. By receiving the BBC News channel live feed, Panasonic’s 60m2 LED screen in the square, will give people an opportunity to be a part of this milestone day in the countdown to London 2012.

Panasonic will host various events and attractions from 11:00 to 19:00 on July 27 in Trafalgar Square, including a live broadcast of the London 2012 tour of the Olympic Park from 14:15-15:00.
A media event will be held from 18:00-18:30 on the same day. Dignitaries on hand will include LOCOG CEO Paul Deighton, Team GB Olympic Gold medalist Tim Brabants and Team GB Olympic Silver medalist Keri-Anne Payne.
The other activities on the day will include a “Meet & Greet” opportunity with Wenlock, the official London 2012 Olympic Games mascot, “Have a Go Zone” where everyone can have fun participating in various games and sports. To add further appeal to this exhilarating celebration of ’Two Years to Go,’ visitors will be treated to a live dance performance with stars from the hit film ‘StreetDance 3D’.
There is no entrance fee for Panasonic’s “Get Ready for London 2012” event.
