Panasonic today announced that the company has been selected by the Video Panel of the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) as the recipient of the prestigious European Plasma TV 2009-2010 Award for the Panasonic VIERA TX-P42V10. Along with the European Plasma TV 2010 Award for the TX-P42V10, three additional EISA Awards were awarded to Panasonic: European Mulitmedia Camera 2009-2010 (LUMIX DMC-GH1), European HD Flash Cam 2009-2010 (HDC-TM300), and European Micro System 2009-2010 (Panasonic SC-HC3). The four EISA Awards follows last year’s solid performance in which Panasonic also won four awards.
"With the TX-P42V10, we have created the finest quality premium flat-screen television, which combines our state-of-the-art NeoPDP technologies with a host of user-friendly networking features," says Fabien Roth, Senior Manager - TV, Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH. "We see winning the European Plasma 2009-2010 Award as confirmation that the TX-P42V10E is providing the ultimate viewing experience to consumers.”
The EISA judging panel stated that TX-P42V10’s main qualities are its “fine balance of picture quality, functionality and up-to-date technology, and of course a competitive price. This display offers a really enjoyable cinema-like experience, with excellent contrast and natural colour, achieved with no effort from the user thanks to the THX Preset setup feature."
The Panasonic VIERA TX-P42V10 is part of the VIERA V10 Series line-up. The TX-P42V10 is equipped with a state of the art NeoPDP panel, which offer a dynamic contrast of 2,000,000:1, cinema level picture quality with 1,080 lines of moving picture resolution and Digital Cinema Colour. These THX-Certified displays also come with 600Hz Sub-field Drive Intelligent Frame Creation Pro, 24P smooth film playback and VIERA CAST service. The TX-P42V10 features a slim, fully flat "One Sheet of Glass" design which gives the impression that the television is literally ‘floating’ in the air or on the wall. The eco-friendly NeoPDP panel is lead-free, consumes less power than previous plasma panel generations and has a lifetime of up to 100,000 hours. In addition to the integrated VIERA Image Viewer, the TX-P42V10 can also playback DivX and AVCHD Lite movies.
Visitors to the IFA 2009 Consumer Electronics Exhibition in Berlin from 4 - 9 September 2009 (Hall 5.2 a/b) will have the chance to take a closer look at the VIERA TX-P42V10.
The EISA Awards will be officially presented during the official EISA Awards Ceremony on September 4th at the Adlon Kempinski Hotel in Berlin. Established in 1982, the European Imaging Sound Association (EISA) is a multimedia association that tests consumer electronic products.
