To be able to capture truly stunning images, especially in HD, a superior lens is necessary. That is why Panasonic has jointly developed the line of Leica* Dicomar* lenses for use in its camcorders.

Panasonic Camcorders boast Leica Dicomar lenses developed specifically for HD digital video cameras, these lens systems are made using a multi-coating process that prevents light reflection and glare.

Leica Dicomar lenses are well-known for image clarity, along with capturing delicate and rich nuances of shadows and highlights. This advanced lens system renders finely-detailed, high-resolution images, ideal for showcasing the full potential of HD technology.

Multicoated lenses
When light passes through a lens, the lens surface sometimes causes diffused reflection, resulting in image noise that appears as ghosts or flare. The multicoated lens prevents this reflection. When multiple lenses are multicoated, the lens system is able to suppress diffused reflection more effectively. The lens system with 12 elements in eight groups has 14 multicoated surfaces.

Low Dispersion Aspherical Lens
The low-dispersion aspherical lens minimises chromatic aberration caused by focal deviations in the light after it enters the lens. This suppresses both colour bleeding and false colour generation.
