Intelligent Image Stabilisation

The two most common reasons for poor or ruined photos is blurring caused by either hand shake or the movement of the subject.

Image Stabilisation functionality allows LUMIX cameras to compensate for both of these photo pitfalls through combining two Panasonic original technologies: MEGA O.I.S. and Intelligent ISO Control.

Mega O.I.S.
MEGA O.I.S. uses built-in gyrosensors to detect even tiny camera movements and then shifts a lens in the opposite direction to compensate. The system is completely optical - it does not affect the CCD or image processing - so you get sharp, clear images without deterioration.

Intelligent ISO Control
Intelligent ISO Control detects whether or not the shooting subject is moving. If it is, the system automatically raises the ISO setting (that is, the light sensitivity of the CCD) accordingly, allowing the camera to shoot at a higher shutter speed thus preventing motion blur but also without compromising the quality and naturalness of the image.

Together these two technologies make a robust and intelligent image stabilising system to ensure clarity when shooting - whatever the circumstances.
