DMC-G3 Great little Camera This is my first non Compact camera. I wanted a camera that I could catch show dogs in action with and my compact just would not keep up with this need. After reading many reviews I went for the lumix G3, As a novice at photography I expecting to be using it in Auto mode most of the time but it is very easy to get to grips with, Its light and very fast, just what I was looking for. The modes and setting very easy to understand, and the movable lcd screen is great. Thanks Panasonic. 23 May 2013
Death of the SLR Went out to upgrade from a 35mm SLR and a bridge (fz8) looking for a DSLR but allowed myself to be persuaded by this. Lightweight in grams heavyweight in quality. big + points for me - the flexibility of the touchscreen to view and alter settings, focussing on auto seems spot on in all modes and good to use on manual, HD movies (i'll not use that! ha ha) have been a grand addition to the armoury, small and light (including extra lenses) so easy to carry around. iA is a pretty fine program,I leave it set on that for 'just in case' situations where no set up time available - so far so good. wee niggles - -you're tied to panasonic lenses - not a problem in quality but they cost and there's a limited (though improving) range. - the buttons are a bit close for my clumsy fingers and still sometimes hit the wrong bit - it's a bit heavy on the battery, i carry 3 but given it's powering the whole viewfinder system perhaps not a surprise. It's survived almost a year with me - I'm not gentle with it - my camera has to be able to go everywhere with me and take the odd knock. I've captured some magnificent images with it. Despite the wee niggles I'd never go back to humping around a clattery SLR again. My advice - go for it! 08 December 2012
Super alternative to a DSLR I received this camera as a present to replace a DSLR (too large & heavy) and a high end compact (hated the view screen focusing) Up to now it has done everything I have asked of it. I particularly like the information in the viewfinder, and the flip out rear screen, useful for taking pictures in awkward situations or closeup. The feel of the camera fits my grip much better than the DSLR. I am even starting to take videos with it - something I considered I would never do! Quite a bit heavier than the compact I was using but still manageable even with the power zoom lens. My only gripe is the eyepiece adjustment wheel, which is a little stiff. 16 November 2012
A great little camera I have read all the reviews for this camera and agree with most of them the only quiery I have is the 14 42 lens that comes with it I find this to be very stiff so when useing the motion picture setting to zoom in makes the pictures jump on playback does anybody else suffer from this. 25 October 2012
