The Multi-step Noise Reduction applies optimum noise reduction according to the brightness of the part of the image. Images recorded in low-lit situations are now dramatically clear.

It lets you adjust parameter (color, saturation or contrast) by just moving the slider. With Creative Control and iA Plus, you can also control defocusing and brightness with smart touch operation. The Scene Guide makes it easier to capture impressive images and gives additional tips to create even better images.

The DMC-GF5 features the Light Speed AF of approx. 0.09 second (When using the H-PS14042 lens. Panasonic measurement method.) The DMC-GF5’s contrast AF boasts higher accuracy even in shooting at small F value. The phase-difference AF system is susceptible to mechanical margin of error. However, in the contrast AF system, focusing is controlled by the image sensor so that no mechanical margin of error occurs to achieve precise focusing. The AFF mode automatically focuses subjects only when flaming or subject move, during half press.

The DMC-GF5 can record 1920 x 1080 full HD videos in both AVCHD and MP4 format. The AVCHD format is excels in compatibility with AV equipment while the MP4 format is optimal for viewing and editing on a computer. A stereo microphone, featuring Dolby Digital Stereo Creator, records dynamic, true-to-life stereo audio. Even video beginners can record excellent videos because the iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode is available for video recording. The Creative Control and Photo Style are also available in video recording to add more creativity.
