Fantastic upgrade from my compact.
A month of research and endless like for like comparisons have led me to purchase the DMC-GX1. This is a definite leap forward for Compact System Cameras. DSLR qualities combined with excellent results gained in every department, especially the build and quality of the unit and all with the convenience of a compact for the serious enthusiast without the bulkiness of it's bigger brother, the DSLR. The overall ability to control my picture result on most settings with the advantage of the touch screen is a fantastic DSLR type learning experience. My only fault with this camera is that I didn't make the move from compact to CSC sooner. I'm now looking forward to an exciting few years of adventure alongside my GX1. I feel like a professional with results to match.

brilliant pro quality camera
as a professional travel photographer ibought this system after getting fed up with carrying around multiple heavy slr kits. this system hits the nail right on the head - pro quality images, great system back up, exemplary lens quality, etc etc. i could go on!
the best bit about this camera is that it gives images equal to the dsr images i take and it does it at a fraction of the weight!

Surpassed All Expectations ..
Having been used to a pro DSLR, I purchased my GX1 as a more portable alternative for those situations where you don't want to be encumbered with a large, heavy camera.
The GX1 offers you full control over all image parameters, and is easy to use - the high quality images produced are an additional bonus .. a fine camera.

Great Camera!!
This is my first 'proper' camera as i want to get into photography, so far i have been extremely suprised at how user friendly this camera is, i have a lot of patience with all types of gadgets and like to trial and error all the functions, usually i dont have the patience with cameras but with this one i do. Takes great photos and know i am looking at getting another lens for it as i want to learn more.
Higly recommended by me and i cannot wait to learn more about the camera.
