LUMIX cameras feature LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON*, LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT* and LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR* lens systems which include several aspherical lenses to compensate for spherical aberration and further stand out due to their excellent optical performance and compact dimensions.
Minimal Distortion
The construction of LEICA DC lens actually effectively suppresses the type of distortion that crops up so often in wide-shots. Even in angle shots, instead of warping or bending, lines which are straight are actually depicted as straight.
Consistent Resolution Levels
Right up to the edge of the frame, you can expect consistent levels of sharpness. Unlike less complex lens constructions, LEICA DC lenses set themselves apart as resolution is crisp and clear, sharpness does not diminish away from the focus point.
Effective Coating
To ensure playback that is both rich in detail and in contrast, an advanced multi-coating process is applied to the LEICA DC lens surfaces to help prevent fogging caused by flare and ghosts that can occur at excessively high light levels.
