Get the full 360° view of the LUMIX GX7. Simply click on the camera and use your mouse to navigate around it, and use the zoom bar on the right to take a closer look. You can also change the camera colour and switch lenses with a simple click of your mouse.
Through a number of innovations in both sensor and engine technology, the GX7 recreates images like never before and takes photographic power to stunning new heights with the best LUMIX G image quality ever. Textures, colours, clarity and three-dimensional perspective are all enhanced, creating a breathtaking result, whatever you’re shooting and whatever the conditions.
The sensor in the LUMIX GX7 is a completely new development. Image quality is dramatically improved not by increasing the number of megapixels, but by enhancing the detail and precision of each individual pixel through a larger and more efficient light receiving area. This leads to more saturation and a higher dynamic range for breathtaking images.
A faster and more efficient engine in the LUMIX GX7 delivers outstanding image processing capabilities. Faster shooting ensures you never miss a shot, while textures and three-dimensional perspective are captured like never before. Enhanced processing speeds also mean there’s no waiting to view your shots on the screen, as results appear instantly.Outstanding Usability
When you’re trying to capture the perfect shot, the last thing you need is frustrating functions or a clunky interface. But thanks to some innovative developments and features such as touch controls and a high resolution tilting viewfinder, the LUMIX GX7 gives you complete flexibility and ease of use – ensuring that whatever the situation, your camera won’t let you down..
The 90-degree tilting viewfinder boasts the highest resolution you’ll find on any camera, providing you with images as close to reality as has ever been achieved. Whether you’re shooting from the ground, eye level or above your subject, the 2.7 million dots and near 100% colour reproduction ensure that what you see is exactly what you get.
The high resolution monitor comprises a number of advantages over the competition. Not least, it allows you to focus on the subject in an instant, release the shutter or even do both at the same time. What’s more, new In Cell Touch LCD technology – sensitivity that was previously only available in smartphones – dramatically reduces reflections, giving you greater clarity whatever the weather.
When your photography requires a little subtlety – or even complete silence, the LUMIX GX7’s silent shooting mode really comes into its own. Allowing you to turn off one or all of the camera’s focusing, shooting or shutter noises, it ensures that you won’t disturb your subject and can shoot completely undetected.
The first LUMIX G camera to integrate in-body stabilization, the GX7 allows you to turn stabilization on for any lens you use. First of all, it detects whether the lens you’re using has its own stabilization system and if not, uses its own. This means that even classic and legacy lenses can benefit from the practicality and ease of image stabilization.
The LUMIX GX7 is built around a lightweight, durable magnesium alloy frame and has been meticulously designed to ensure maximum comfort and grip for both shooting and viewing pictures. Whether functional or aesthetic, every part of the camera has been uncompromisingly built to ensure that consistent quality and performance is achieved throughout.
The auto-focus innovations and developments in the LUMIX GX7 allow you to ensure that your composition is perfect every time. From touch focus functions that make it easier than ever to select your subject, to super-fast focusing speeds that ensure you never miss the perfect shot. All this means you’re left to focus on what matters – stunning shots every time. We also provide revolutionary improvements to our manual focus capabilities through our Picture-in-Picture magnification and Manual Focus Peaking features..
Capture fast moving subjects clearly and precisely thanks to light speed auto-focus, which operates at a stunning 0.06 seconds.
Setting the focus and exposure settings has never been easier. Thanks to Full-Area Touch Auto-Focus and Touch Auto-Exposure, you can now select the perfect settings for your shot with a simple touch – even while using the tiltable, high resolution viewfinder.
The pin-point auto-focus is even more impressive when you take advantage of the ability to set magnification anywhere from 3x to 10x, using gradients of just 0.1x. You can even use the auto-focus in manual focus mode. This means you can use your own judgment to make fine adjustments to the focusing after the auto-focus has done the hard work.
What’s more, Picture-in-Picture mode gives you even more flexibility when composing your shot, allowing you to make crucial adjustments to the focus without losing your view of the wider picture.
For more practical control over focusing, the LUMIX GX7 incorporates a Focus Peaking function that shows the peak of focus. The detection level can be set to 'High' or ‘Low’ and a colour can be selected to stand out from the shooting environment. In ‘High’ mode these are light blue, yellow or green and in ‘Low’ mode, blue, orange or white can be selected.
The LUMIX GX7 has a range of features and innovations that ensure you can capture great shots in any situation and at any time of day or night. The low-light Auto-focus is one such feature, and allows you to quickly and easily focus on the exact part of your composition that you want, even down to -4EV.
As every photographer knows, the perfect shot doesn’t wait around for your camera to kick into action. Sometimes, you need an instant, fingertip response – especially in street photography. That’s why the LUMIX GX7 has been designed with a range of features, functions and innovations that ensure you’re always ready to capture that magic moment or once-in-a-lifetime shot, without waiting a millisecond too long..
The incredible 1/8000 second shutter speed on the LUMIX GX7 will never hold you back. It allows you to freeze the briefest instants in time, with perfect clarity and breathtaking detail. It also opens up even more creative opportunities by allowing you to shoot with a shallow depth of field, even in bright sunlight.
When you want to pick out the best shot in a fast-moving scene, burst shooting allows you to shoot at 5 frames per second – or up to 40 frames per second using the electronic shutter. And each shot maintains the stunning 16 megapixel high-resolution clarity that you’d get with a single shot.
The LUMIX GX7 is ready to shoot in under 0.5 seconds from when you hit the power button. But that’s not all. Compatibility with an ultra-high-speed memory card means your shots and video footage can be written and saved in a fraction of a second – even in Raw recording mode.
The LUMIX GX7 may be lightweight, but it’s not short of sophisticated functions that allow for breathtaking shots and videos in all sorts of different conditions. From Gamma Curve adjustments to miniature mode, the GX7 is packed with innovations that can take your photography to the next level..
The GX7 is the first LUMIX camera to include a gradation curve. This can be used to individually tune the contrast behaviour of the camera. Highlights and shadows are adjusted, allowing you to either select one of three presets or even create your own unique look using the touchscreen or front and rear dials. This can then be stored on one of three custom settings.
Historically a popular feature in black & white photography, the LUMIX GX7 brings colour filters right up to date, with the ability to create dramatic effects in black & white digital photographs. For example, a red filter can create moodier skies in landscape photography, while green filters can enhance portraits.
Create an authentic, vintage feel to photographs, or dial up the drama in your black & white shots by using one of the monochrome filters on the LUMIX GX7, such as grain or silk. You can also tint your black & white shots anywhere along the yellow-blue axis.
Tilt-shift lenses are expensive and often tricky to operate successfully. Miniature mode on the LUMIX GX7 brilliantly recreates the Scheimpflug effect, allowing you to create beautifully intricate landscapes that have the appearance of a miniature world – perfect for the more creative and inventive photographer.
