How do you rate an excellent but flawed camera?
Apart from just one thing the TZ30 is all I could wish for in a camera. It takes excellent still pictures and video clips. It fits in my shirt pocket. Its zoom lets me pull in extreme close ups without camera shake whenever the day is dull enough for me to see what is on the monitor screen. As soon as the sun comes out though I can't see a thing and I miss so many shots. Please Panasonic give the TZ50 a viewfinder, or at least a hot shoe that will accept an electronic viewfinder as an accessory. That will make your excellent camera perfect.

Excellent in every respect
This is my second Lumix compact and they just keep getting better. An enormous amount of detail has gone into this tiny but robust platform which is already producing outstanding results for me. In particular the x20 zoom on such a small camera is a real treat which makes wildlife photography so simple. Difficult to imagine an improvement on this format.

If you want a compact camera get this
I got the TZ 30 to replace my old camera, after reading reviews and it is as good as you can get, photo quality is spot on, even on full zoom, and with shutter and aperture priority and full manual and all the scene modes you will need, as usual if it as the Panasonic name on it, it is good.

this camera is brilliant for macro photos and gives great true to life colour on scenery, people, close ups etc. Very easy to use and small enough to carry in pocket or handbag. I am never without it! The reason why I didnt give this 5 stars is the quality of the photos on full zoom are not as clear as they should be. But if you can live with that then no other camera beats this one for the great photographs it produces. I upgraded from the TZ8 as I was so impressed with the camera.
