Variable Aspect Ratio

In order to take the very best photos of different scenes and landscapes they require framing in different ways. However normal Digital Cameras only allow you to take them in the standard photo 3:2 aspect.

LUMIX cameras with Variable Aspect Ratio functionality let you take photos in different image formats, to suit the requirements of the scene. The choice is yours: whether it is the normal TV 4:3 aspect ratio you prefer, the classic 3:2 photo format, or todays 16:9 wide screen and HDTV format, Lumix can cater for all tastes. Thus, for example, you can take intimate portraits of your family and friends in 3:2, photo the exterior of your house in 4:3 aspect, and take grand sweeping landscapes in 16:9.

Furthermore, with their 28mm wide-angle zoom lens and true 16:9 CCD sensors, the LUMIX LX-series produces particularly excellent 16:9 mode images, without the typical black bars on top and bottom.
