The more advanced TVs get the more personal our relationship with them becomes. Which is where the new "My Home Screen" concept comes in, putting all the things you love in one place.
Whether you decide to create your own layout from scratch or use one of the preset formats, you’ll find the intuitive interface makes it easier than ever to switch between all the things you love – from unmissable TV shows to all sorts of applications, information and entertainment.
Your Home Screen lets you quickly and simply find exactly what you’re looking for. And because up to four people can each have their own personalised Home Screen, you’ll never have to sift through somebody else’s favourites to find the content you want – right when you want it.
Preset Home Screens
All in one: The preset Home Screens are built around three themes: TV, Lifestyle and Information, with each emphasising the sort of content and apps most relevant to that theme.
For instance, the TV Home screen provides fast access to TV listings, the Lifestyle screen summarises practical things like weather reports and calendars, while the Information screen prioritises web browsing and social networking.
Personalised Home Screens
Express yourself: Everyone in your home can build their very own bespoke Home Screen that contains all their favourite content. These can be built from scratch or using the preset Home Screen formats. And because your priorities may change from day to day, it’s easy to swap or rearrange your content whenever you want.

Smart VIERA TVs are made for so much more than just watching TV. VIERA Connect brings Internet-based content in 10 different categories straight to your living room, on the large screen. Twin Tuner
Twin HD tuners on the new Smart VIERA televisions open up a whole new world of viewing possibilities. For instance, you can watch two programmes simultaneously on a split screen – perhaps the football on the left while you catch up with the news on the right.
Alternatively, you can also watch one channel while recording another and even watch your favourite show on the main TV while someone else streams theirs from the television to a smartphone or tablet.
Watch & Record
If you’re using a USB hard disk device with your TV, having twin tuners means you can record one broadcast while watching another on your screen. Or even record two channels at the same time while you’re out of the house.
Watch & Share
Families don’t always agree on what to watch. But that doesn’t mean anyone has to miss out. The Smart VIERA allows you to watch one channel on the TV, while someone else streams a different channel to their smartphone, tablet. You can even stream from the TV-broadcast to another VIERA TV in a different room.
Watch & Zap
Find out what’s on next without missing a moment of the show you’re enjoying. Browse through channel listings via the Electronic Programme Guide and see a second screen preview picture of the shows that are on. So you can enjoy more of the shows you love!
Double Watching
Having two tuners means you can watch two broadcast programmes simultaneously, with one on the left side and the other on the right. So you can check your lottery numbers without missing a moment of the action during the big game.

Swipe & Share 2.0
Swipe & Share allows you to effortlessly transfer content such as photos, videos and web pages from your smartphone to the big screen with a simple swipe of your hand. And just as easily, you can pull content off the TV in the same way. All you need is the free VIERA Remote App 2 on your mobile device.
So whether you want to take an interesting article from your Smart VIERA’s internet browser upstairs to read in bed, or share the photos and videos from your latest holiday from your smartphone on the 1080p HD screen, it’s all possible with one quick and simple movement of your hand.
Swipe and save
One finger for sharing, two fingers for saving. Whether it’s a family photo or video, a recipe from the internet or an article that you want to save for later, you can transfer content to the connected USB hard disk and from your TV to your Smart device.
Remote App 2.0
VIERA TVs don’t just support content sharing with external smart devices. The VIERA Remote App 2 also lets you use your tablet or phone as a controller for the TV. The app provides intuitive menus that mirror the functionality of the normal remote, even letting you start VIERA Connect online apps, and providing free-point navigation of web pages.
Remote play
The new VIERA Remote App 2 turns your tablet or phone into a convenient second display so that you can perform actions like calibrating your TV’s pictures or searching for content without any menus having to appear over the images being shown on the TV.
App launcher
VIERA Remote App 2 allows you to open and switch between your VIERA Connect Apps using your smartphone or tablet. You can even use your mobile device to surf the internet on the big screen.
Smart calibration
Thanks to Swipe & Share, you don’t have to interrupt your favourite shows to change the settings on your TV. By using your mobile device you can easily adjust the colour, brightness, volume and other settings without any intrusive menus appearing on the television screen.
Voice Interaction & Face Recognition
Smart VIERA televisions can not only recognise your face via an in-built camera, they can also understand your voice – allowing you to control the TV simply by speaking simple commands into the remote. And because the Smart VIERA is designed to make your life easier, it will even read you content from the web.
So whether you want to quickly access your Home Screen, instantly search the internet or have your TV read you the news while you’re busy doing chores, Voice interaction and Face Recognition is redefining the role that televisions play in our everyday lives.
Face Recognition
When you sit down in front of your Smart VIERA television, its built-in camera can recognise your face and instantly select your personalised Home Screen. It means all your favourite content is waiting for you exactly where you want it.
Camera options
The Smart VIERA’s camera can also be used for Skype calls and other applications – and even to leave video messages on somebody else’s personalised Home Screen.
General voice commands
The new Smart VIERA is redefining the way you interact with your television. So now if you want to adjust your TV’s volume, change the channel or perform other basic functions, you can simply speak your commands into the remote control and the television will understand your voice.
