VIERA 3D TV - Infuses Reality into Every Image
Panasonic uses full-HD Frame Sequential technology to create its 3D images. Images recorded in 1920 x 1080 pixels for both the right-eye and the left-eye alternately flash on the screen at the ultra-high rate of 120 frames per second. When you view the screen through active-shutter glasses that open and close each lens in sync with the alternating images, you see breathtaking FULL HD 3D pictures with stunning power and realism.
Panasonic 3D Eyewear - High-Speed Shutters Prevent Light Leakage
High-Precision 3D Eyewear Control Technology - Highly precise timing control for the opening & closing of the shutters minimises unwanted light leakage (minimising shading ratio of over 1/1000) to enable clear 3D viewing. Both shutters on the 3D Eyewear close completely during the short gap between the right & left plasma signal emission to match the luminescence characteristics of the plasma display. The remarkable beauty of the FULL HD 3D images is further ensured by employing a totally Panasonic system — both VIERA 3D TV & 3D Eyewear — to achieve precisely linked operation.
VIERA NeoPlasma Display Technology brings 3D Images with Minimal Afterglow
Thanks to the newly re-engineered VIERA NeoPlasma display technology with Fast Switching Phosphor, 2011 range of VIERA 3D Plasma TVs deliver clear & detailed 3D images. Reformulating the phosphor materials used on the display panel has minimized afterglow and increased luminous efficiency, resulting in reduced double images.
Without New Phosphor
With the conventional Plasma display panels without the new Fast Switching Phosphor, illumination can't catch up with fast movement. Result is blurred 3D images with increased double images (crosstalk effect).
With Fast Switching Phosphor
Short afterglow and crisp illumination deliver clear, high-resolution 3D images without double images.
The new light-emitting process also contributes to the reduction of double image in dark areas. By switching the light emission sequence to a light-to-dark order, the afterglow duration is dramatically reduced.
Crisp, Clear Moving Pictures with 600Hz Sub-field Drive (50 frames x 12 sub-fields = 600Hz)

Fast Switching Phosphors offers crisp & clear moving pictures.
This unique image-analysis technology converts the motion in each scene into data for faster display of frame images compared to previous 600Hz systems.
The UK broadcast system is sent at the rate of 50 frames per second (50Hz), so every second of watching, 50 pictures are sent to the TV.
Each of the 50 frames consists of sub-field images based on the brightness & tonal characteristics of a picture in a frame.
With VIERA Plasma TV with 600Hz sub-field drive, up to 12 sub-field images per frame are displayed. It is said that the higher the number of subfields the greater the colour is & the smoother the picture is. This is why our 600Hz system delivers rich colour and smooth motion pictures.

Had this for nearly a week and I have got to say - it is amazing! I held back on a 3D TV because I wasn't convinced the technology was up to scratch, but this next-generation model certainly impresses! I've watched a 3D Blu-ray (Resident Evil: Extinction) and the depth and clarity of picture is cracking!

Every time I switch this TV on I still say WOW...So easy to set up - didn't need an engineer - fantastic picture, couldn't believe the quality on the Freeview, much better than the SKY+ picture. No regrets at all about the purchase and continue to be impressed with Panasonic.
