Digital Home Networking with DLNA

Devices, such as a Panasonic Blu-ray Disc™ Recorder, Blu-ray Disc™ Player or a new VIERA TV, can easily share your digital content – movies and more – all around the house, wirelessly.

DLNA Home Server

DLNA Home Server

A home network would be nothing without DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance standard). It gives you the chance to stream content throughout your home, granted the devices are compatible like Panasonic ones. Have JPEG images saved on your PC in the home office. Via DLNA, send them to the TV in the living room for a great evening of viewing photos together with friends.

Bringing Your Digital Contents Together

As more and more of your media goes digital, the ability to easily share your digital content among the different devices in your home is also becoming more important. Panasonic is implementing the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) standards, with products that can ‘talk’ to one another even without wires. So you will be able to view camcorder recordings in High Definition (AVCHD) from your last holiday on the TV in your bedroom, even though they are stored on the DIGA Blu-ray Recorder in your living room. Think of it as a multi-room home network made simple. Very simple.

All you really need to get started is a DIGA Blu-ray Disc™ Recorder as a DLNA Certified home server. This acts as the hub of the operation, communicating with other compatible products.

For example, TV programmes stored on the Recorder’s hard disk can be accessed by a Blu-ray Disc™ Player in a different room. Then you can add other DLNA Certified products, like many of the latest VIERA TVs, throughout your house. The server will give them access to the same pool of content, which means you will be able to browse and view the media stored on the server in another room – all without having to worry about shuffling discs from one player to the next. When browsing your home media library for the entertainment you want, you simply navigate using the remote of your DLNA Certified Blu-ray Player in the same way you might change channels or adjust the volume. Thanks to its DLNA compatibility, the Panasonic DIGA Blu-ray Recorder has the potential to bring Full HD entertainment not only to your living room, but to every room of your home.
