VIERA TVs come with all the connections you would expect from a high-end High Definition television - and also some you may not expect!
HDMI Input
For future expandability and ease of use, all VIERAs come with up to three HDMI connector slots, one on the front and two on the rear. Use the rear panel connector for your DVD Recorder/Player, Blu-ray player, or set-top box (STB) and use the front connector to hook up a digital video camera and view images you have just recorded.
Jointly developed by Panasonic and other consumer electronics companies, HDMI is the first and only digital interface to combine uncompressed High Definition video and multi-channel audio in a single digital cable. For end-users, the fact that just a single cable carries audio and video signals dramatically simplifies the installation of home theatre systems and eliminates the cable quagmires of the past!
HDMI also makes the operation of peripheral devices, such as DVD or Blu-ray players and Home Cinema systems easier. To find out how, see the "VIERA Link" article.
PC Input
Most VIERAs are equipped with a PC Input terminal. Accordingly you can connect a PC and browse the Internet, or view downloaded content on VIERA's large, beautiful flat screen.
For business users, the PC Input enables you to achieve exceptional viewing quality of your presentations, applications, images and training programmes.
SD/SDHC Memory Card Slot
Panasonic is always looking for new ways to allow consumers to interact with its products. As digital cameras are now ubiquitous, we have now included an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card slot on our premium Viera TVs. You can simply remove your SD or SDHC card from your digital camera, insert it directly into the Viera TV, and immediately view your snapshots on Viera's large screen! When set to "Photo Mode", Viera adjusts its colours for ideal photo viewing - allowing you to watch and share all your images in glorious HD-quality… right in the comfort of your own living room!
Additionally, if you own a Panasonic eCam SD-camcorder you can also directly watch the footage you have taken in High Definition AVCHD format. Simply insert your card into the SD card slot and get ready to enjoy your personal films in Full HD. Again you get all the fun of seeing your images and moving pictures without the burden of connecting cables!
