Perfect Picture Quality

The resolution of Flat Panel Displays is commonly described in pixels, often with a direct correlation of the number of pixels to picture quality. While the number of pixels have an impact on picture quality, more so it is dependent on the characteristics of the panel, the type of panel and how it performs in displaying moving pictures.

APDC (Advanced PDP Development Center Corporation) developed a method of measuring and evaluating moving picture display performance in a scale that is close to human vision. This method allows a quantitative analysis of picture resolution which is closely related to the number of pixels of the panel for moving pictures.

Based on 600Hz Sub-field Drive with Intelligent Frame Creation PRO, our latest generation of NeoPDP models achieves the highest possible motion picture resolution (1080 lines),

according to the APDC measurement method which measures the performance of TVs in terms of motion.

The standard European PAL broadcast signal is 50Hz – meaning that the on-screen image on your television is refreshed 50 times per second. Panasonic VIERA Plasma TVs have a built-in 100Hz Double Scan technology which doubles the screen refresh rate, resulting in flicker-free images.

Smoothest on-screen action with 600Hz Sub-field Drive IFC Pro**
The internal processor creates 600 sub-fields from the initial signal input, reproducing 12 sub-fields to display one frame. By using an intelligent algorithm based on motion detection, the best motion flow is created to deliver the sharpest moving pictures with full detail.

A TV screen’s response time is a measure of how fast its pixels can complete one full picture ‘cycle’, so that they are ready to play a part in the next frame of the picture. TV screens with long response times can have problems refreshing every element in their pictures rapidly enough to keep up with fast motion, resulting in moving objects looking blurred and smeared.
